Single-Layer Chain Winding
First count the total number of slots, then count the pitch and remember it.
For a single-layer, single-chain winding, leave one slot empty before each strand of wire.
Leave the slot empty until the pitch is reached, then close the slot.
Single-Layer Concentric Winding
For a single-layer, multi-turn winding, leave two empty turns, then leave two open turns, then leave three empty turns.
Don't close the slot until the pitch is reached, then close the slot.
